While browsing around the internet, I’ve come across an article from Violent Acres. After reading her article about the two phrases that destroyed american culture, I was in immediate agreement with her statement. Her article deals with two phrases that appear in society, but more specifically, in the retail business. The two phrases that she brings up into question are “The Customer is Always Right,” and “I don’t give respect freely, you have to EARN my respect.”

Well, that is the basics of the article, give the article a read and see if you can relate to what she is saying. Me personally can find different instances where I’ve experienced what she is talking about, but don’t have the power to do anything for fear of losing my job. Hey there everyone, Prudz here today to talk about my lack of affection with most television broadcasting on the air today. I’ve found myself watching less and less television over the past few months. My watching has dwindled down not due to lack of time to put into it, just a lack of interesting shows or networks to really get behind anymore. I occasionally watch the “Big Three Networks” (read ABC, NBC, and CBS some also include FOX) for some of their primetime shows, which is basically just limited to House M.D. I can always fall back to my trusty Cartoon Network later at night for their [adult swim] programming with adult orientated cartoons and anime. I’ll even venture to watch Food Network for one or two shows and G4tv for their shows like Cops, Ninja Warrior, and Unbeatable Banzuke.

When I’m not just fed up altogether with television programming and watching movies, I find myself tuning in to the channels known more for their documentaries and “educational” (i use that term kinda loosely) programming. As of recently these channels have become my lifeline: History Channel, History International Channel, Discovery Channel, Discovery Times Channel (now Investigation Discovery), National Geographic Channel, and the Science Channel.

Most of these networks have shows that are largely interesting and are on such a broad range of topics that it can hold my interest for hours and hours on end. It brings to my attention some subjects or events that I would never really have cared about otherwise. Most of these programs aired are generally well done and provide both sides of arguments and information, which lets you form your own opinion on the subject matters raised.

Maybe it’s because I’m becoming more of a nerd, or maybe it’s because I just can’t find quality programming on most networks anymore. Whatever the reason I’m turning to these networks as a saving grace to what seems like a bunch of crap that has been on television lately.

I am a procrastinator, there’s no doubt about it. Whether it be doing chores around the house, doing projects or papers for classes, or my biggest problem, waking up/going to work. I have tried the trick of setting my alarm clock around 10-15 minutes fast in fear that I will wake up and notice that I am running late. I must say, this tactic had worked for about the first week or two I have done it. But after those first few weeks, I find myself getting used to the idea of my clock being fast and I account for it now when I wake up and need to be somewhere.

I find that when I take this “fast time span” into account I end up being later than I normally am. It’s a miracle that I still have my job because I stroll into work at least 10-15 minutes late each day. It seems like it’s a vicious circle that has no end in sight….or is there? While stumbling through the great world wide web, I’ve come across the Procrastinator’s Clock. This my friend is the worst enemy of the procrastinator. With it’s tactics, it channels the fear and anxiety in all of us.

With this simple little program opened in your browser, it displays a digital clock with the time on it. But of course, this time is not going to be the correct time. This clock can run UP TO 15 minutes fast. The catch is, that it’s not always going to be running that 15 minutes fast. This program will speed up and slow down, ensuring that the time will run fast, but it puts your mind in doubt as to how fast it really is running. This clock will never run slow so as long as your computer is set with the correct time, it will do it’s thing to try and throw you off pace, second guessing yourself.

Hey there everyone! It’s prudz here checking up on how everything is doing. I haven’t gotten to post any more entries as of late because I’ve been too busy/lazy to do it. My classes are done for the semester and I’m officially in summer time mode (which is mostly me just working more than usual). I’ve just recently picked up two new games for my Nintendo Wii: Obscure: The Aftermath and Wii Fit.

Apparently Obscure is a sequel to a game that came out for the Xbox a few years back. It is a survival horror game with crappy dialog and a not so clear storyline as of yet. I picked it up because it is a multiplayer survival horror game that reminds me of resident evil 4. Also, in similar contrast with Resident Evil 4, the price tag is the same, 29.99. I’m just hoping that it has it’s good moments and will be fun to play with its fair share of “scare the shit out of you” moments. Another added bonus is that the music is done by the Boston String Quartet and the lyrics are sung by the Paris Opera Children’s Choir…definitely makes room for some eerie settings while playing alone in a darkened room.

I also just picked up Wii Fit. It is my goal to use this game to get me on track to start losing some weight. So I’ll be tracking my weight and maybe post some updates of how good (or bad) I’m doing in the following weeks.

So I just wanted to keep in touch with the readers, to let you know that I am still around, just too busy/lazy to update this as much as I would like. With that said I’m going to go crash due to lack of sleep from going to the midnight premier of Indiana Jones 4, soreness from playing Wii Fit yesterday, and work at 7 in the morning today. I may just provide a movie review on Indy when my mind is thinking clearly in a future post.

Hey there everybody, Prudz coming to you after a short break in my blog updating. I haven’t been blogging as much recently because I’ve been swamped with schoolwork as I’m getting close to the end of the semester. With research papers, tests, speeches, and chapter summaries to write up, I’ve been just a tad bit busy. I’ll be done in less than two weeks time and expect to be writing as often as I did before. I’m going to be starting a new section here on Minute Details, my own reviews! Whether it be on products, games, or movies, it’s something to express my product experience with you guys! Anyway, on with the review of Drillbit Taylor.

I went to see this movie during a week when nothing else was really good in the theaters. I went with a friend and we were feeling a comedy. At first I was a bit hesitant because I know that some Owen Wilson movies can be hit or miss, see Shanghai Knights, or Starsky & Hutch.

The story revolves around two younger kids that are just entering their high school careers. Everything seems to be going fine until they start getting picked on by some bullies at school. It is then that they hire Drillbit Taylor (Wilson) who they think is a real bodyguard, but is actually a bum, to protect them from said bullies. With me so far? Not exactly the most believable premise, but let’s go with it for the sake of comedy.

It was written by Kristofer Brown and Seth Rogen, but is given a PG-13 rating because it seems like it is more of a family film. I’m not sure if I am used to their form from Superbad or Knocked Up, but I didn’t really think that I was going to get a lot of quality with a lower movie rating. I was actually surprised at the number of laughs I got from this film. Most don’t even come from Wilson at all, but from the young kids in the movie. The two younger stars, Nate Hartley and Troy Gentile, actually do well in their first theater performance and held their own for most of the movie. The whole movie progresses somewhat smoothly until the end fight scene where Wilson’s character loses a Pinky, but other than that I had no real major qualms with the movie.

All in all, it’s not a big blockbuster like some of Wilson’s other movies: i.e. Wedding Crashers, but it’s a fun movie to watch none the less. Wait for this one to come out on DVD to rent if you’re bored one night, it’s nothing that needs to be added to your movie collection urgently.

Hey there everyone, hope your morning/day/evening/night (I think I covered most of the time frames) is going well. I’ve come to you today in this post to promote a small short film my cousin has done for his Junior Narrative class this semester at Penn State University. Sameer is an aspiring film and english major at said university and this is his first film that he’s sharing with the world. It is entitled “Speed Hump,” and his instructions were a bit limiting. This short needed an egg and two characters in it. Also no onscreen dialogue or musical score was allowed. The sound is a bit low, but he plans on re-editing this work, to give it better quality. Take the three minutes out of your life and watch this short today!

Hey there all! Prudz coming back at you with one of the strangest, yet funny product that I’ve seen in a while. While working at the “Wonderful” World of Weis Markets, I happen to come across this little statuette type of product that we are selling now since it’s spring time. It appears just to be some little statue type of thing that you may put in a garden, or near some flowers or something…I don’t know…if you’re into that sort of thing. What really caught me…is that something is just not…right with the product itself. I took a couple of pictures so that you readers can figure out what makes this product just seem…off. Without further delay, here are the pictures.

If you have a perverted mind…you’ll see it. If you don’t see what I’m talking about, find someone you know what a dirty mind and ask them. My question is how does this get past the production stage…you’d think somewhere along the way someone would be like, “Woah, I’m sorry…but that frog looks like it’s giving the other one felattio!” Maybe they realized it, and thought it’d be funny and shipped them out anyway. Well.. whatever the case I found it hilarious, hope it gave you a laugh!

Hey there everyone! While I was returning home from seeing a comedian on Friday night I had passed an interesting billboard. Normally I don’t pay attention to billboards if I am driving but this one caught my eye. There was something was just wrong about it. I drove back to where the billboard was today to catch a picture of it. Luckily it was still the way I saw it. See if you can figure out what the problem is.

That’s right… they completely put the sign in upside down. I had gotten a good laugh when I saw it. It prompted me to think…did the workers putting up this billboard realize that it was upside down? Or did they realize halfway through and just say “Eh….screw it.” and finished putting it up anyway? Here’s a zoomed in shot (and flipped 180 degrees) so you can read the Keystone ad.
